I wish I could deliver all the food thrown away by restaurants at the end of their business days to these nations.

Funny you should mention that... This week I was thinking to myself, "What can I do to get food to these people?" Then I realized that their poverty is really more about political corruption - and that is a veil I am not sure I can pierce.

But I am still thinking...

you bring up an important point. when my brother and i discuss about heart wrenching conditions in other nations, we always come back to the following ...
1. corruption - when you see the elite in that nation well fed, living in opulence, then one realizes quickly that scarcity of food is probably not the issue.
2. the tendency of those in authority is to use their power and influence for their own benefit
3. only a deep appreciation of the gospel of Jesus Christ can break this ... because Jesus uses His power to benefit his people, at the expense of himself ...
